1,200 Israelis models nude for Spencer Tunick’s Dead Sea photo

Nude Photo shoot

One thousand two hundred male and female volunteers participated in a mass nude photograph by artist Spencer Tunick at the Dead Sea. The age range of volunteers were 20 to 60. They gathered at Dead Sea before dawn and modeled in three different arrangements – one in the sea, one on land and last one where they were covered in the famous dead sea mud.

This project was initiated by Ari Gottesmann and Ari Fruchter in 2009 which encountered political and financial difficulties along the way. They had tried to get sponsors and at the end of two years the major donor canceled the contribution at the last moment making photo shoot unpredictable. Despite all these the project become a success story.

Congratulations to everybody who were part of the project.
