A kissing contest was organized in the southern Thai beach resort town. According to OLD Guinness World Records, longest kiss was last for 32 hours, 7 minutes and 14 seconds and the credited to a couple in Germany.
Here in Thialand, the contest which stared on Sunday morning at 6 AM local time with fourteen mostly Thai couples. Seven determined couples locked lips for more than 36 hours to celebrate Valentine’s Day. By late Monday evening, three more pairs had dropped out and four couples were still left smooching. The last left kissing wins a diamond ring worth 50,000 Thai Baht (1,606 dollars), and a 100,000 Baht (3,213 dollar) cash prize. This is the longest recorded smooch in the history.
Organizers had set up the rules for the contest. According to the rules, the couple’s lips cannot part at any time. Drinking of water, coffee, milk and juice was allowed but only through straws while continuing to kiss. Bathroom breaks was allowed after every three hours but they have to remain embraced during that period as well. Sitting and sleeping was not allowed.
